Didn’t I just, just do a collection update?!?!!?! Well…
One of Sarah’s missions for our visit to Kops Records last weekend was to find her favourite Peter Murphy album that was newly reissued to vinyl, but they were dry. So, the next day her wonderful husband checked to see what he could find online, and there it was at Encore Records for a very reasonable price. They had a few more of his albums and so… it looked like I was going to have to spend some money on shipping.
Shipping several records from Encore cost the same as a ton, so it only made sense for me to add a few LPs for myself:
I have been a fan of Royal Blood for a while but had none of their albums in my collection. Encore had their new release ($27 moosebucks) and their debut ($23 moosebucks). A lot less than $31 moosebucks amazon was asking.
I also grabbed Judas Priest’s Hell Bent For Leather/Killing Machine (Yes, Green Manalishi is on it) for $24 moosebucks, leaving Turbo and Sad Wings of Destiny to be the only two pre-Ripper albums I need.
Speaking of amazon, I took them up on their offer to grab the deluxe edition of Eric Clapton’s Unplugged for $18 moosebucks. I normally do not require the bonus songs and whatnot from an album, but this one is special to me. It was the very first album I bought on CD and helped cement my love for the blues.
So, when Dave over at A Sound Day alerted me to the deluxe edition that included an early rendition of My Father’s Eyes (One of Sarah and I’s favs from the early days of our relationship) I just had to seek it out. This edition also comes with the DVD of the show which I have never seen.
I would show you Sarah’s Peter Murphy records but I’m hoping she will get the urge talk about them on her site someday. Maybe a few encouraging comments here might help…
